Deal Pier voted Pier of the year 2008...
Well done to Dover District Council and all concerned that work at Deal pier. It is a great achievement to hold Pier of the year and an example to all other Coastal Councils throughout the British Isles. As a member of the Herne Bay Pier Trust and on behalf of the Trust well done to all...
PLANKS FOR THE MEMORIES...
Clevedon pier trust celebrated it's 9,000 brass plate last week. They are all over the pier decking, the benches, everywhere and they range from £20 TO £175 each with the messages "in loving memory" of the past, to the present , even TV's Country File had one placed on the pier! Well done to them all. And the pier is very popular with visitors from afar.
Another success story is Sefton Council and Southport pier. Joint-handed in joint support of a pier trust, it gained assistance from National and EU sources. It is now a very popular pier and currently the second longest pier.
Well done to both North Somerset and Sefton Councils for the wonderful job you have done to your local and overseas tourism and local businesses!
